Black Starr and Frost 14k yellow gold Art Nouveau lorgnette or opera glasses with seven natural turquoise gemstone cabochons. It measures 4 7/8” long and 1 1/4" wide when closed or 3 3/4" when opened. It weighs 23.76 dwt. Art Nouveau period c1900. An important piece of American Art Nouveau featuring turquoise.
There are seven robin's egg blue turquoise cabochons of some variation in color and size, having very little matrix. They measure about 10mm x 7mm, 10mm x 7.5mm, 10mm x 7.3mm, 6.5mm x 7mm, and 2-6.5mm. Hallmarked B.S. F. 14k on the inside. Wow!
