Wendt
was an active silver company in New York from the late 1850's until the
early 1870's. His scarce flatware is traditionally marked "Sterling
Patent" or "925 Patent", and often accompanied by a retailer's mark such
as Ball, Black, & Co. or Starr & Marcus. 
Rare Ribbon by John R. Wendt c1870 Sterling Silver Moresque style flatware set - 48 pieces (including 8 Pointed Antique dinner knives - the Ribbon pattern was made before hollow handle knives were invented). The Ribbon pattern features a design of stylized tendrils and leaves, with two central medallions. This set includes:
