William Spratling was
an American-born silver designer and artist, best known for his
influence on 20th century Mexican silver design. He was trained as an
architect and
was a talented visual artist by the 1930's he founded the first of the
silver shops that would spur a Mexican silver renaissance. His inspired
designs blend a unique modern aesthetic with Pre-Columbian designs,
creating works of art. These handcrafted utensils show off the
exceptional skill of the legendary Spratling silversmiths and the unique
design vision of William Spratling. Antionio Pineda: William Spratling
"lit the fuse for the whole Modern Mexican movement in Taxco."

rare 8-piece set of Disc by William Spratling flatware, Taxco Mexico, circa 1962-1964. This pattern features modern elongated, squared off handles with disk or button detailing.
