pattern was designed in the year 1880 by renowned silversmith and artist Charles Grosjean
(1841–1888). One of the most celebrated and lavishly ornamented
American silver patterns ever created, Chrysanthemum is an extraordinary
expression of the naturalistic aesthetic associated with the Tiffany Style and
early Art Nouveau.
The
design unfolds across the handle in a spectacular profusion of flowing curves,
