Custom Tiffany set made for J Carter Brown, The
Brown family of Rhode Island, patented in 1885, designed by Charles Grosjean.
Modified fiddle and shell applied with the Brown coat of arms, the reverse is
applied with the monogram SBA for Sophia Augusta Brown, the only daughter of J
Carter Brown. She married in 1885, likely a wedding gift. Unusual Tiffany
fitted box with pull out trays and metal strap. Custom patterns are among the
rarest silver Tiffany made. We have never seen this pattern in person before!
