Superb French vermeil sterling silver Flatware set by Glachant, Paris, circa 1870 - 97 pieces total. The pieces have incredible intricate acid etched partial gilt and hand engraved ornate scrolling design, including design on the back of the spoon bowls (see photo). Provenance: This one-of-a-kind set was from the collection of Ambassador Alexander Weddell and his wife, from the Virginia House Museum.

24 Dessert Knives, hollow handle all-sterling w/vermeil blades, 8 1/8" 24 Dinner/Dessert Forks, 7 1/4" 24 Dessert Spoons, 7 3/8"
1 Large Sugar Sifter with incredible pierced bowl, 8 1/2"
Includes
original vintage fitted leather box (box in as-is condition, as seen in photos). The dinner knives do not fit in the case and appear to have likely had their blades replaced at some time.
