This pattern was named after the art of repoussé (the process of embossing metal from the back by hammering), originally used in European silversmithing. The Repousse pattern, first crafted in 1828, features an intricate floral design.
Repousse by Kirk sterling silver raised compote. It is marked #409A and dates from 1925-32. The compote measures 2 3/4" tall, 6 1/4" in diameter, and it weighs 6.3 ozt (not weighted). It is not monogrammed and is in excellent condition.
