This pattern was named after the art of repoussé (the process of embossing metal from the back by hammering), originally used in European silversmithing. The Repousse pattern, first crafted in 1828, features an intricate floral design.

Lovely Repousse by Kirk sterling silver candlestick pair marked #2. The candlesticks measure 4 1/4" tall x 3 5/8" (base), and are weighted. They are not monogrammed and are in good estate condition as shown in the photos. Beautiful!
