Exceedingly rare Sterling silver Fish Server French style 11 1/4" in the multi-motif pattern Olympian by Tiffany and Co. It is not monogrammed and is in excellent condition.
This piece depicts the motif of Venus born of the sea. She is drawn in her shell by dolphins driven by Cupid, who bear the laurel branch. On the back are emblems of love - the myrtle, quiver, doves, torches, and the burning heart.
This piece has a pierced oblong flat functional end which is turned crosswise to the long axis of the handle. The rarity of this piece suggests that it was available special order only from Tiffany.
