10k and 14k Gold Victorian Poison Ring Hidden Compartment Size 6 (#J6352)
Victorian 14k and 10k yellow gold ring with hidden compartment that
opens, possibly a poison ring. The compartment is a hinged box that
opens from the underside. The box tests 14k and the newer shank tests
10k. The ring has an engraved monogram "L" and hand engraved design. There
is a repaired tear by the box hinge (someone tried to pull up instead
of from underneath).
The ring fits a size 6 finger and weighs 1.56 dwt.
It dates from the 1880-90s. Wonderful!
