Exceptional English Georgian sterling silver and glass sweet meat/sauce dish set which includes two dishes with covers and ladles. The dishes are not a matching pair, but compliment each other well. The design is similar but has some subtle differences. One dish is not marked at all, while the other is made by Matthew Boulton and John Fothergill in Birmingham, England, circa 1774. The ladles were made by Richard Crossley in London, England, circa 1792.
The dishes measure 5 3/4" tall x 6 1/4" wide (with handles), and the ladles measure 5". The unmarked dish is not monogrammed, the marked dish is monogrammed with coat of arms, and the ladles are monogrammed (see photos). This set is in good estate condition as shown in the photos. The finials are slightly crooked, as shown.
