Handwrought 14k Yellow Gold Ring with Huge Blue Mabe Pearl Size 9 (#J7241)
14k yellow gold ring featuring a huge blue mabe cultured pearl. The cultured saltwater pearl is a blue-grey color and measures about 26mm x 15mm x 10mm which is about 1" long. Mabe pearls are blister pearls backed in mother of pearl shell. The pearl is set in an ornate mounting with detailed feathers or leaves. The pearl has a high dome and sits up about 3/4" tall.
The ring fits a size 9 finger and weighs 6.52 dwt. It dates from the 1950-60s. The maker's mark appears to be JAM. The band has an inlaid rope design and there is an open area which is missing some gold. Gorgeous!
