Rare sterling silver Asparagus Serving Tong measuring 7 1/4" in the pattern Lap Over Edge Acid Etched by Tiffany. This multi-motif pattern is circa 1880 and features an array of designs from animals to fruits and vegetable to flowers. This piece features a peony motif on the handle and stunning brite-cut detail and piercings on the serving area. This piece is featured on page 99 in the "Tiffany Silver Flatware 1845-1905: When Dining Was an Art" by William P Hood Jr with Rosalyn Berlin and Edward Wawrynek. It is monogrammed (see photo) an in excellent condition.
