Mexican Conquistador for Spratling Tea Service
Superb Mexican sterling silver 6pc tea set plus silverplate tray by Conquistador for William Spratling, Eagle #13 hallmark. Conquistador produced some Spratling designs under license in the 1940's. The wing at the bases of the handles as well as the ball under the spouts and ball-finials, give this tea set a fabulous distinctive Mid-Century Modern design. This set includes: Coffee Pot, Tea Pot, Kettle on Stand, Covered Sugar Bowl, Creamer, Waste, and Silverplated Tray.
The coffee pot measures 9 1/4" x 7 1/4" x 6" and weighs 31.15
ozt. The tea pot measures 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 6 1/2" and weighs 27.5 ozt.
The kettle on stand measures 10 3/4" x 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" and
weighs 57.1 ozt. The sugar bowl measures 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 4" and
weighs 12 ozt. The creamer measures 4" x 4 3/4" x 4" and weights
9.9 ozt. The waste measures 2 1/4" x 4" diameter and weighs 6.8 ozt.
The silverplate tray measures 28 1/4" x 18 1/4" x 1".
It is in excellent condition. The silverplated tray has some minor scratches, as expected with age. No monograms. Truly extraordinary!
