Modern Georgian by Allan Adler is an elegant sterling silver flatware pattern that beautifully blends classical Georgian influences with the clean, sophisticated lines of American Modernism. The design features gracefully tapered handles with broad, smooth, polished surfaces, culminating in a distinctive sculptural terminal adorned with an elongated oval ornament framed by rounded silver accents. This subtle yet striking detail gives the pattern its unique architectural character. With its refined simplicity, graceful proportions, and understated elegance, Modern Georgian is a timeless design that complements both traditional and contemporary table settings.
Allan W. Adler (1916–2002) was one of America's most celebrated silversmiths, famously known as the "Silversmith to the Stars." Trained under renowned silversmith Porter Blanchard, Adler developed a distinctive style influenced by early American craftsmanship and Scandinavian Modernism. His extraordinary silver creations attracted an impressive clientele, including Hollywood celebrities, presidents, and prominent collectors. His commissions included miniature Oscars for Academy Award winners, crowns for Miss Universe and Miss USA, and exquisite silver pieces for Paul Newman, Michael Jackson, and John F. Kennedy's presidential campaign. Modern Georgian is a beautiful representation of Adler's artistic vision, combining exceptional American silversmithing with enduring elegance and sophistication.
